Materials characterization and modeling
  • Enables determining mechanical properties of a large variety of material types at different loading rates and temperatures.

  • Aids materials selection and identifies effect of temperatures and loading rates on material properties.

  • Allows testing on processed product components to ascertain whether manufacturing processes (e.g. molding and heat treatment) have altered their properties. 

  • Enables developing appropriated material models from test data to describe the material, based on engineering expertise in the mechanics of materials.

  • Enables converting these models into computer code for incorporation into commonly used finite-element simulation software, such as ABAQUS and DYNA3D.
